Monte Atwell, BS, MT, ASCP, CMPM, CCCP

Monte has been serving the medical community of Indian River County since 1993. Having graduated from Indian River Community College with an Associates of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology, she then went on to complete her Bachelor of Science degree at Nova Southeastern University. From 2000 - 2006 she was an adjunct professor with Indian River Community College teaching Phlebotomy and Medical Assisting courses. Her most recent accomplishments include Certifications as Medical Practice Manager and CLIA Compliance.

 

Monte founded Concierge Phlebotomy, LLC  as a convenient and innovative way to offer premier mobile blood drawing services to patients in Indian River County from the convenience of their home or office.

With many years in the laboratory listening to patient concerns, it is my goal to change the patient’s approach to having their blood drawn.   • What is Concierge Phlebotomy?
    Concierge Phlebotomy is premier mobile blood drawing service in your home or office with specimen delivery to Quest or Lab Corp. We operate in Indian River County, Florida.
  • What are the hours of operation?
    Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, and Saturday by appointment only.
  • Why should I choose Concierge Phlebotomy?
    We are experienced, qualified, professional and discreet, with many years in the medical profession and we offer the convenience of having this premier mobile service come to you in the comfort of your home or office, whenever you prefer, anywhere in Vero Beach or Indian River County.
  • How can I request this service?
    You may call and request this service if you have a physician’s lab order for blood to be drawn or your physician can fax the lab order to Concierge Phlebotomy directly and we will contact you for an appointment.
  • Does Concierge Phlebotomy bill my insurance?
    No, this is a concierge service billed directly to the patient. However, your laboratory tests will be billed to your insurance by the laboratory performing the testing. For commercial insurance, it may be necessary for your specimens to go to a certain laboratory.
  • What payment methods are accepted?
    Payment is due at the time of service and we accept cash or checks.
  • What about Patient Privacy?
    Patient privacy is of paramount concern and Concierge Phlebotomy adheres strictly to Patient Confidentiality. Our staff follows all HIPAA State and Federal guidelines to protect your Information.
  • Do you draw blood on children?
    Yes, starting at 4 years of age.
  • Are technicians licensed and insured?
    Yes, our technicians are licensed in the State of Florida and insured.
  • Does Concierge Phlebotomy perform the testing on specimens?
    No, Concierge Phlebotomy only performs the actual blood draw and courier service for your specimen.
  • I need fasting bloodwork, what should I do?"
    This means nothing to eat or drink after midnight. You may drink water.
  • What if my physician performs the laboratory testing in their office?
    Many physicians have their own laboratory in the office and Concierge Phlebotomy will deliver your lab specimens directly to your physician’s office for testing.
  • Once Concierge Phlebotomy receives my lab order, how soon will I be scheduled?"
    If the order is received during normal business hours, the patient is scheduled within the next 24 - 48 hours.
  • What if I need my blood drawn as soon as possible.
    This is defined as a STAT specimen request. These orders should be immediately requested by phone and never faxed. Your physician’s office may also call in STAT lab requests. Please note that there is a $50.00 fee for STAT requests.
  • What if I have a standing order for routine blood work?
    We can schedule your labs, at your preference for future appointments.
  • Will I get a reminder call for my scheduled appointment?
    When your phlebotomy appointment is scheduled, you will be asked if you would like a reminder call.
  • Covid Concern?
    Concierge Phlebotomy is committed to COVID-19 awareness and we will take extra precautions to maintain a safe phlebotomy setting. We do not draw blood on patients who have Covid or Covid symptoms.
